Description

The 3D-printed egg containers are designed with a parametric system that allows for interchangeable components between two distinct styles: Smooth and Ribbed.

To ensure the top and bottom halves remain compatible and flush when combined, the following parameters are used:

Shared Parameters

  • Diameter (cm): This defines the widest point of the egg. For a smooth half to fit a ribbed half, this value must be identical for both parts.

Smooth Version Parameters

  • Extra Thickness (mm): This parameter adds material to the outer wall of the smooth version. It is used to align the smooth surface with the outer edge of the ribs on a corresponding ribbed part, ensuring a seamless transition at the seam.

Ribbed Version Parameters

  • Rib Thickness (mm): Determines the distance the ribs protrude outward from the main body of the egg.
  • Rib Width (mm): Sets the horizontal thickness of each individual rib. The supported range is between 1 mm and 10 mm.
  • Rib Spacing (mm): Controls the gap between each rib around the circumference. The supported range is between 1 mm and 10 mm.
