Description

Grid10 ¼" Drive Socket Tray. Four separate trays for metric and SAE in both 12pt and 6pt.

I’ve seen a lot of great tool organizer designs out there, but as an aircraft mechanic who’s constantly in and out of my toolbox all day (and with a son who’s also an aircraft mechanic), proper tool shadowing is non-negotiable for us.

Instead of traditional foam, I wanted something far more durable, rugged, and clean-looking. So I designed Grid10.

Grid10 is a modular 3D-printed tool organization system. The base plates hook together using simple plastic “dog-bone” links and are secured with common #4 sheet metal screws.

The Grid10 Base Plate

This is the foundation of the system — a universal organizer designed to fit nearly any toolbox drawer. Every plate includes grooves and pilot holes so you can securely mount a wide variety of tool holders, bins, and custom organizers.

Multiple sizes are available, along with edge and corner pieces to let you tile the drawer perfectly from edge to edge.

  • Magnet holes (5 mm × 2 mm) are included on the bottom if you prefer not to fill the entire drawer. (Note: holes are slightly loose due to magnet manufacturing tolerances — a drop of glue is recommended.)
  • Grooves are spaced 10 mm apart and designed at a 60° angle (2 mm wide at the top, 1.5 mm deep). This allows components to be fastened with a single screw while preventing rotation.

Metric to Imperial Conversion:

To convert mm to inches: divide by 25.4 Example: 10 mm ÷ 25.4 ≈ 0.394"

To convert inches to mm: multiply by 25.4 Example: 0.375" × 25.4 ≈ 9.525 mm
