Description

My awesome bracket system for 2x2 lumber - BRCKT!

From my video with Handyman Hal - we used these to 3d print a LEMONADE STAND

I wanted to build with 2x2 lumber and use 3d printing to make the brackets. I didn't find any that would work, so I made my own. I used Onshape to create these once weekend while watching NFL playoffs :)

They take 2x2 lumber, so everything is based on US lumber dimensions.

For the brackets that have lumber go in and stop, it's a 3 inch depth.

The bracket edges are a half inch.

I printed on my Bambu X1C, P1P, and P1S with the brackets on their edge. Use a brim if there is lifting.

Funny thing is I started designing something very similar just a week ago, did you manage to print everything just hanging in the air? I designed mine this far with the 2X2's "standing" at 45 degree angle to remove the "bridges" want to use petg or something else to allow the pieces to be outdoors.

Yes! Had everything on the angle!

Unfortunately for me, what we call 2x2s in sweden are 45x45mm. This was only around 37mm :)

Love the design and the video - quick question: will you be uploading the other bracket variations as well? Specifically the 4-way and 90º connector. Thanks Joel!

Maybe? Super busy building out the new studio right now. Once I can sit down, I might!

Hey if there's any way I can put in a request for just 1 more variation? I have an idea in mind but I would need a 5-way piece. So 4 coming out like a plus and another 2x2 coming out of the center of the plus. If there is a hack way to slam models together to make one I would love to hear about it. lol

You could probably knock that out in Tinkercad without much difficulty. Unfortunately it appears @JoelTelling didn’t share the design in OnShape so others could copy and remix it, didn’t see a link at the video either.
