Description

Do you have a pogie with an inconveniently placed strap in the middle of your handlebar grip? Ever wished there was a better way to hold up your pogie? You've come to the right model – this is a bar end plug for holding up your pogie!

I designed this to work with the Bar Mitts Townie. I'll post updates for capability of other pogies as I get them.

Materials:

For filaments, you'll want to use at least PETG for the clip, plug and cap parts. PLA is too brittle, it will shatter if you crash. I'd recommend ASA or Nylon CF. The expander needs to be printed in a flexible filament, such as TPU 95A.

You will need the following fasteners

ItemQuantityMcMaster Link
Socket Head Bolt, M3 x 0.5 mm Thread, 18 mm Long2(pack of 100) https://www.mcmaster.com/91292A029/
Flat Head Hex Bolt, M4 x 0.7 mm Thread, 30 mm Long2(pack of 100) https://www.mcmaster.com/92125A203/
Steel Flange Nut, M3 x 0.5 mm Thread2(pack of 100) https://www.mcmaster.com/93033A107/
Steel Hex Nut, M4 x 0.7 mm Thread2(pack of 100) https://www.mcmaster.com/90591A255/

Assembly:

  1. Insert the M4 hex nut into the hexagonal pocket in the plug part.
  2. Insert the M4 bolt into the cap, then insert the expander and thread on the plug as shown in the animated gif – don't fully thread on the plug.
  3. Insert the bar end assembly into your bar end. Rotate the bar end to your desired angle for holding the pogie. Tighten the M4 bolt.
  4. Attach the clip part to the bar end using the M3 bolt and flange nut.
