Description

Description

Actually gliding “paper plane” printable in vase mode.

You need some kind of weight in the nose of plane. The model is designed to fit M8 bolt as a weight. I used M8x20 bolt, which weighs 11 grams.

Throw the plane gently and it will glide very far! The plane will fly best if it is dropped down from somewhere high.

Printing instructions

-Use vase mode (in Cura it's “Spiralize outer contour” setting)

-Set bottom layer count to 1

-Use 0,4 mm or 0,6 mm nozzle

-Set layer height to 0,28 mm or less

-Minimum required print volume height = 203 mm

Assembly

With M8x20 bolt:

Apply glue to bolt thread and then spread the hole in the nose of plane and twist bolt in.

With other weight:

Glue or tape weight of 10 to 15 grams in the plane's nose. Ensure that the center of mass is in the center line of plane.

Notes:

If your plane is not flying well, try different weights of weight. Approximately 10 to 15 grams should be good.
