This model is specifically designed to test, display, and refine the bridging capabilities of your 3D Printer and filament.

The model features several “bridges” with different print settings, allowing you to understand exactly how to print perfectly without supports.

To achieve perfect and well-tensioned bridges, I modified and tested two fundamental parameters directly in the file:

  • Bridge Extrusion Speed (Bridge Speed): Adjusted to allow the material time to be cooled by the fans before gravity causes it to sag.
  • Bridge Flow Ratio: Modified so that during the bridge, the extruded strands merge with each other, ensuring greater stability.

How to use this test:

  1. Print the model using my pre-set profile.
  2. Make sure the Part Cooling Fan is set to 100% during bridging.
  3. At the end of printing, observe the underside of the bridges: check which settings allow for printing without imperfections or sagging.
  4. If necessary, use this file as a base to make micro-adjustments on your machine based on the filament you are using (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc.).

Extra tips:

  • PLA is the best material for testing the maximum bridging potential due to its rapid cooling capability.
  • Make sure the nozzle is clean before starting the test!
