Description

This Wheel Mod Adapter was designed to prevent damaging the Wheel Mod like it is with the method provided by Thrustmaster.

To install a Wheel Mod turn the Adapter 90° to the right so that the fixing screw is oriented to the left, after that put the the Wheel Mod on the Wheel Base pull the Adapter towards the Wheel mod and turn the Adapter 90° to the left so that the fixing screw faces downward and screw it in (don't pull it all the way to the Wheel Mod, leave about one two to millimetres left so that you can screw the Wheel Mod to the base with the Adapter)

To uninstall the Wheel Mod do the steps from above in reverse.

Parts needed (BOM):

  • 2x M4x40 Cross Head Screw
  • 1x M5x20 Hexagon Head Screw
  • 1x M5 Nut

The two M4x40 screws are screwed in from the back to give the Adapter a bit more strength (this shouldn't be necessary since not much force is put on the Adapter itself but I really recommend to install them)

The M5x20 used for the fixing screw and you can easily assemble it by sticking the screw through the Knob Base (use some super glue on the hexagon walls for the screw head on the Knob Base - be sure to not get super glue on the thread!).

After you've put the screw through the base put a little super glue on the Knob Top and but the Knob Base and the Knob Top together.

The M5 nut is used for the Adapter itself and is fixed again with some super glue in the adapter (please put only a little super glue on the walls from the hexagon walls for the nut in the Adapter - be sure to not get super glue on the thread!).

I hope someone can make use of this, you can edit/remix it yourself. ;)

WARNING: This modification makes it necessary to partially disassemble the Wheel Base and I want to make clear to install this only when you know what you are doing and that I am not responsible in any way if you brick or damage something!
