This project is a modular bench holder system designed for testing, coding, and diagnosing VAG MIB2 infotainment units outside the vehicle.
The setup allows you to quickly assemble a clean and organized bench environment for working with the main components typically required during MIB2 programming and diagnostics.
The set includes dedicated holders for:
- MIB2 main unit
- Display
- Gateway module
- OBD port
The display holder is angled, making it easier to read and operate the screen during coding, diagnostics, or testing. The design also allows very quick installation and removal of the MIB2 unit and display, which is ideal when working with multiple devices.
Perfect for:
- VW infotainment coding
- retrofit and electronics work
- diagnostic bench setups
- testing MIB2 units outside the car
Assembly Guide
Assemble the parts as shown in the photos.
- The sides mib2_holder_side_a and mib2_holder_side_b must be glued to the main support mib2_holder.
- The parts disp_c must also be glued to mib2_disp_holder.
- The obd2_holder must be screwed to gateway_holder. I used the screws that came with my P2S which hold the build plate during shipping, but any similar screws should work.
- All remaining parts are designed to fit together with snap-fit joints.
If you prefer a more permanent setup, you can also secure the remaining parts with super glue.
