If there is too big clearance in the guide groove (02_Gear and 03_Base), it may happen that the 02_Gear tilts too much and the 01_Worm gear will not engage (the stand will not tilt). If this situation occurs, I recommend slightly pushing the left side of the 02_Gear and turning with the 06_Adjustable_Gear.
A VERSION WITH CLEARANCE
It may happen that main version will not be assembled due to small clearances. Actual clearance depends on many factors (flow, filament, printer condition)
Parts with the letter C in their name are parts that have increased clearance. These parts must be glued
Printed well, just a few surface defects but these are more likely due to the old/wet PLA I used.
The worm gear and the "phne gear" tend to jam while moving for me. Seems like the angle from the teeth the worm gear - phone gear aren`t just right.
All in all still a very good looking model!
After some use I noticed that the front "pitch" can be slightly shorter to allow you to tap the virtual button on Android devices or the Touch ID button on older iPhones. I'm using these mounts with some development's devices, so I have to switch apps frequently.
Printed with Bambu lab matte PLA.
Great engineering, well done.
I don't know why my model is so grippy though. I think that the fact that the worm gear is on one side only and that it has a lot of clearance with the gears tilts the rotating part sideway and jam.
I would love to see a model with dual worm gear.
Also my print warped but that is on me. (it warped on an aesthetical parts so it does not interfere with the mechanism)
