It could be fine anyway. The resistance of the violin is entrusted to the internal carbon tube.

Any videos of this being played? Would like to hear the sound of it. Also, do you think PLA is strong enough for this?

The PLA resists because there is a carbon tube inside. For the video you should search on YouTube. Personally I don't know how to play it, I tried, and it's the classic violin sound, but I'm not a expert in this musical instrument
