Description

AquaClear AC50 Flow Baffle | Plant Protector & Surface Agitator

💡 If this model helps your tank thrive, please consider giving it a Boost! It really helps me out and encourages me to keep designing more custom aquarium gear. Happy fishkeeping!

Tired of the stock AquaClear AC50 waterfall battering your delicate aquatic plants or disturbing your substrate?

I designed this custom flow baffle to redirect the AC50’s harsh downward output into a smooth, horizontal surface wave. By converting the waterfall into a sweeping surface current, this baffle maximizes surface agitation—which is critical for optimal oxygen exchange and maintaining a healthy gas balance, especially if you are running CO2 in a planted tank.

Key Features:

  • Horizontal Flow Dynamics: Smooths out the current to prevent substrate washouts.
  • Plant Protection: Keeps the heavy flow off your delicate stems, mosses, and floating plants.
  • Maximum Gas Exchange: Optimizes the surface ripple to keep oxygen levels high and fish healthy.
  • Perfect Fit: Snaps securely right onto the AquaClear 50 output lip.

Print Recommendations: For aquarium use, PETG is highly recommended over PLA as it holds up better to prolonged water exposure and is reef/tank safe. It prints beautifully and quickly on Bambu Lab machines.  If you don't have PETG, PLA is fine.
