Description

I was in need of a way to quickly attach some frequently used items to my WallControl system in the workshop without needing to print brackets.  I searched around and didn't find anything that fit my particular need so I made this one.  They fit snugly into the WallControl board and also fit snug into the standard pegboard material as well.

The discs use standard 8mm x 2mm rare earth magnets. I use these particular ones from harbor freight - https://www.harborfreight.com/10-piece-rare-earth-magnets-67488.html

The magnets are press fit in, so you do not need to glue them. The fit is super snug!

The best way to press the magnet in is to place the magnet on a flat surface and press down on the back of the edges on the disc. It'll go in flush to the surface of the disc.  If that doesn't work, a vice or a clamp to put pressure on the magnet so it'll slide in works as well.

These are the general settings I use to print these in PLA+ - 1 part takes about 15minutes or so.

  • Quality - 0.20 mm (normal)
  • Infill - 15% (gyroid - I don't think it really matters much)
  • Perimeters - 4
  • Solid layers - 5 on bottom 4 on top (may vary on your printer

Print worked well but I need to get stronger magnets the cheap amazon ones I have don't really hold much.
