Description

Designed to work with this well designed lid-lifter: https://www.printables.com/model/367620-bambu-labs-ams-lid-spacer

I wanted to add a lock mechanism to allow the AMS to continue to function as a drybox.

The lid spacers have been adjusted, so if you printed the original design you will need to re-print. There is also now a very small amount of supports recommended at the end tips.

The lockdown prints with 2 designed-in supports that snap free. (The two towers that support the lock-down arm).

BambuLab .3mf project also included for quick+easy solution.

I printed in PLA, however TPU,PETG and other materials may provide a longer-term solution.

Printed well with PETG. Cleaner fit than the other version of this design floating out there. I had to add a brim with zero gap to keep the parts from snapping loose on the engineering sheet with a X1C

sorry but this print looks no flat i see spaces where air can go inside. i wanted to print that because of the hydra i can not use all spools to lock the AMS as drybox.

Good idea, execution needs some work The GOOD: the geometry conforms well into AMS lid The BAD: print in place locks were impossible to break loose and both broke off. The gap near the hinge of the AMS lid is not covered. Note, I used the default print profile from the creator

Thanks for the feedback - looking at the photos there appears to be some significant overextrusion in the print, which would have locked up the mechanism and similarly fused the snap-away supports. Once the filament/machine is calibrated, there should be some improvement (except the end gap - my modelling skills aren't sufficient to solve that part of the problem)

The added mouse ear brims kept the print securely attached to the build plate. I printed in TPU to create an even better seal around the lid.

I found this remix after having the same idea and decided to give it a try . First print on another non bambu printer came out apparently ok but one of the locks instantly snapped when I tried to free it . Reprinted on the P1S but it's way too lose to apply any pressure on the lid and having the locks on makes no difference at all. Honestly, although I like the idea, I think this is a poor implementation that needs to be revised . Also, even if the locks were tight enough, it seems obvious that applying pressure to the center area isn't enough, you can easily understand that if you push the lid across different sections with your fingers . Good effort but doesnt work

Works like a charm thank you for sharing. i printed it with auto tree support thin tree. perfect match and the lid close perfectly. maybe you can add a tpu inlay thin to put in between? i think this would seal much better like it is. 5 Stars thanks for sharing this nice Design. where can i choose the stars to click ? i dont see any ?!

The locker itself spaghettied a bit but overall good solution. Seems to keep the AMS at around 14% humidity as compared to the 10% so not that big of a loss

with this, I can now put my spools with the rings in the ams without any obstruction.
