Flapjack Octopus
Print Profile(0)
Description
The flapjack octopus has a considerably different appearance from commonly seen octopus relatives, with legs spread out radially. It has a very flattened and squashed appearance. Because it lives in the dark deep sea, it has lost its ink sac and cannot squirt ink like regular octopuses. It is relatively small, with a body length of about 20 centimeters. When taken out of water, its soft body cannot support itself and it stretches out like slime.
