Description

Boost Me (for free)

Note: This model prints as a mini toolbox (~3.25 inches wide) at default scale. If you want a larger version, simply scale the model up in your slicer.

Mini Rolling Toolbox (Functional Drawers)

This is a fully functional mini rolling toolbox with real, sliding drawers — not just a display model. Designed as a compact, printable desktop or diorama piece, the drawers open and close smoothly, the wheels roll, and the entire model can be scaled up or down to fit your setup.

At its default size, the toolbox measures approximately 3.25 in wide × just under 3 in tall × 1-5/8 in deep, making it small enough for a desk but detailed enough to feel like a real shop tool. This was designed to replicate the US General tool box offered by Harbor Frieght

Features

  • Functional Drawers
All drawers open and close. This is a mechanical, working design — not glued-shut parts. Drawers will slide all the way out.
  • Rolling Wheels
The wheels are functional and spin.
  • Two Lid Options Included
    • Flat lid
    • Ribbed lid for a more “work surface” look
  • Scalable Model
The design scales cleanly if you want a larger or smaller version.
  • Multi-Part Print
Designed for clean printing and easy assembly without an AMS requirement.

Assembly Notes

  • Drawer Handles
Handles are printed separately and slide onto the drawers. No glue is required for the handles if your tolerances are dialed in.
  • Adhesives
No glue is required for the core functionality. Use adhesive only if you want to permanently lock parts or wheels.
  • Fit & Tolerances
This model relies on proper printer calibration. If your printer tends to over-extrude, expect tighter fits.
  • Glue - use CLA for the handles, lid and casters

Print Recommendations

  • Material: PLA recommended
PETG can be used at your own risk — tolerances are tighter and may require tuning.
  • Calibration:
Please calibrate flow and dimensional accuracy before printing. This model is intentionally snug to allow drawers to slide cleanly without wobble.
  • Supports:
    No supports required.
  • Build Plate:
Textured or smooth plates both work. A small brim is optional if you experience edge lift.

Notes

This is a functional model, not a toy. If you scale it significantly or change materials, you may need to adjust tolerances or lightly deburr contact surfaces.
