Description

Introducing my first attempt at making a Kit Card.

As a big Star Wars and Clone Wars fan, I was disappointed that I couldn't find an ARC-170 model or kit card anywhere so I thought I have a crack a making my own design.

I designed it to print with a 0.2mm layer height and before printing I recommend you give you build plate a wash with warm water and dish soap. I have found using IPA to clean PEI sheets makes adhesion worse, so just use the dish soap.

Assembly.

  1. Remove parts from Sprue. I have a photo labelled with the part names to help with assembly.
  2. Slid Engine Nacelle parts onto Main Wing, the small cut out on the middle of the main wing faces up, with vertical slits on the nacelles facing down.
  3. Put the s-foil mounts onto the nacelle, the large mount goes at the front with the flat side towards the middle.
  4. Attach the engine intakes and nozzles (Yes I know technically it is not an intake but lets just call it that to keep it simple) they are keyed so they will only fit in a certain direction. It easy to just seat them on the tabs then hold the nacelle part and push it up against a flat surface.
  5. Slide fuselage onto main wing, The is a small tab on the fuselage slot that seats in the slot on top of the main wing.
  6. Insert S-Foils onto tabs. The flat sides are angled in a way the there is a top and bottom pair.
  7. Slide on the wing cannons.
  8. Place onto stand and enjoy!!

I am pretty happy with how this turn out for my first attempt, I might try making a more realistic version if I get time.
