Description

Update 16/04/2024 - before printing, check out this new model!

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Twist cap:

  • Crossbar changed to nubs to increase vent area
  • Frame thinned from 2mm to 1.6mm to increase vent area and reduce print time
  • Vent wall thinned
  • Vent wall separated into a different STL to allow better control over pint settings in the slicer

Main body

  • Vent area diameter increased from 40.6mm to 46.8mm
  • Minor changes to increase internal capacity and reduce print time
  • Vent wall thinned
  • Vent wall separated into a different STL to allow better control over pint settings in the slicer
  • Version with slotted holes on the sides added - the extra venting allows the whole canister to be dried in a microwave or oven a little faster (doesn't make much difference inside a spool)

Lock

  • “Spool Lock Extended 16mm” added - to work with wider spools.

Fitment tested on:

  • Prusament spools
  • Bambu spools
  • eSun spools

50% triangular infill works well for the vent walls.

Import the main part and the mesh part together to make sure they're aligned.

Mine are printed in Prusament ASA and seem fine when I put them in the microwave to refresh the desiccant.

Ironing the top surfaces made a nice flat look!

Brand new to 3d printing so looking for some input. I have printed the center spool twice. Bambu P1S/AMS with Bambu PLA. The first was a brand new roll of red PLA. The mesh was barely attached around the edges and was not fully formed. Was soft and could almost blow hard on it and knock it out. Second attempt was the green PLA. Same result. Door closed, top on. Imported and sliced with Bambu-no changed to standard PLA settings. Any help on what I might change to get the results that others are getting. Rest of the parts were perfect. The mechanical engineer part of me loved the tool to open the fill and the funnel. Sorry, but photos were at about 4:30 this am and I did not have my glasses with me-looks way better without the glasses. Thanks

hi, you need to use “Arachne” wall generator setting, instead of “classic”. the setting may have changed to classic when you changed printer in the slicer.

alternatively, you can print straight from the phone app to ensure it uses the right settings

I had to print an adapter for some of my spools with a larger hole. This is a great desiccant holder and it helps add some weight to my somewhat empty spools to hold them down in the AMS. Printed in PETG.

Maybe a good idea to share the adaptor in case someone has the same issue as you? :) looks like a great print. Gonna print my own one of the coming days.

Outstanding design... I'm printing my NINTH one. Nice work! (See image) I like to mix colors for something like this. I used Bambu PETG clear and Translucent Teal. One of the thing that impresses me with this is that the circular desiccant sealer plate, which has a very fine thread, screws into the main body with no problem. I also like what I'll call the "maximum bead surface exposure" design feature. I will probably print another six. I want to have these in my AMS and all of my bag-sealed spools.

Fits nicely, adjusts nicely, certainly recommended for the filament toolset.

I only regret that I printed this version and not the latest. I printed in PETG. all the threads worked well.
