Next Step Small 50 – The Ultimate Modular Transition Nest
Designed by a Keeper, for Keepers:)
Most ant colonies start their journey in a simple test tube. But what happens when they outgrow it? Many keepers struggle to find a nest that isn't too large for a young colony.
Having been an ant keeper since 2014, I’ve spent over a decade observing how these incredible insects interact with their environment. I designed the Next Step Small 50 to be the perfect bridge between a starter setup and a permanent large-scale formicarium.
Why Choose the Next Step Small 50?
Natural Living Space: The interior features a system of precisely designed chambers and tunnels that mimic natural galleries.
Engineered for Durability: This isn't just a "click-together" toy. It uses M2 brass threaded inserts for a secure, long-lasting assembly that won't strip over time.
Superior Hydration: Uses a reliable test-tube-and-cotton system to provide a consistent humidity gradient, which is vital for brood development.
- Fully Modular: Equipped with screw-in ports (10mm and 12mm), allowing you to expand your setup as your colony continues to grow
