Description

Lake Huron: Being the second largest of the Great Lakes of North America, covering 23,000 square miles split between the US and Canada. Maximum depth 750 ft. This map stretches from the Straits of Mackinac in the west, to Waubaushee in the east and Port Huron in the south. Data obtained from publc domain, and rendered in 1: ~2 million scale (depending on how large you print it). To make the lake depths more pronounced I added 5x vertical exaggeration in the lake, and 2x in the surrounding topography.

I switched filaments several times so your model may be much simpler than my final version. For the best outcome try to slice at the thinnest layer height you can (0.1-0.16), and also make sure you enabled things such as adaptive layer height, and have thin layers at the water/land interface.

I used dark blue for the depths, a light blue for the shallower water depths, and then switched to a combination of brown/tan/green silks for the land segments.

NOTE:Bambu was rejecting my model because of taking too long to slice. To work-around I “simplified” and then made it smaller to reduce slicing time. You can download and slice that model if you like. However: the file called “full res” or the “RAW STL” will have a greater amount of detail and accuracy. To get product looking like my picture I would suggest use the higher resolution models.
