Skill Peak – Shuttle Feeder (Modular Badminton Training Aid)

Boost Me (for free)

If this project helps you, a post of your make, and feedback is always appreciated, and if you love it, consider a boost to support. Thanks!

The Skill Peak Shuttle Feeder is a DIY badminton training aid designed for front-court and net practice, built as part of the Skill Peak Modular System.
It allows you to feed shuttlecocks at a consistent pace, helping players focus on technique, timing, and repetition without needing a training partner.

This is not a commercial machine, but a maker-friendly project for players, coaches, and clubs who enjoy building, tuning, and improving their own training equipment.

Key Features

  • Holds up to 16 shuttlecocks
  • Designed for front-court / net drills
  • Consistent, repeatable feeding for technique training
  • Fully modular – works with the Skill Peak hub system
  • Adjustable speed via potentiometer
  • Compact, lightweight, and easy to reposition
  • Powered by a standard USB power bank

Part of the Skill Peak Modular System

This shuttle feeder is one module in the Skill Peak Modular System, making it easy to mount and combine with other components.

Compatible hubs include:

You only need one hub + the shuttle holder to get started.

Print Information

This project uses both PLA and TPU parts.

Included files:

  • PLA version (3MF) – structural parts
  • TPU version (3MF) – driver wheels, grips, and flexible components

Recommended materials:

  • PLA+ for structural parts
  • TPU 85A (e.g. Kung Fu Flex 85A) for wheels and grips

⚠️ Printing TPU 85A can be challenging on some printers. If you are new to TPU, it’s strongly recommended to research TPU settings for your specific machine before printing.

Assembly & Skill Level

  • Assembly time: approx. 2–4 hours (excluding print time)
  • Skill level: Intermediate
  • Required skills:
    • Soldering
    • Basic electronics
    • Mechanical assembly and fine-tuning

step-by-step assembly guide with photos is included.

Limitations & Important Notes (Please Read)

  • This is a DIY training aid, not a commercial product
  • Expect occasional misfeeds and the need for tuning
  • Designed only for front-court practice
  • Shooting range is approx. 4 meters from net height to floor
  • Motor RPM matters – very high-RPM motors may overheat
  • If needed, a buck converter (5V → 3.3V) can help with motor heat, but this is outside the official guide

Please review photos, GIFs, or videos of the feeder in action before printing to ensure it meets your expectations.

Who Is This For?

  • Badminton players who want more repetitions in net drills
  • Coaches running structured front-court training
  • Clubs looking for affordable DIY training aids
