Description

****UPDATE**** - I noticed many people were confused by why the pieces don't fit into each other, (even though that was not the original design's intention) I uploaded another profile where the plateau sits neatly inside the lightbox. ON THE PROFILE SECTION click “click to see more” and it's the last one uploaded. Thanks to everyone for printing and I am sorry the instructions and design wasn't clear enough.
****Thanks for reading****

The Giza Plateau (Arabic: هضبة الجيزة) is a limestone plateau in Giza, Egypt, the site of the Fourth Dynasty Giza pyramid complex, which includes the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers' village and an industrial complex. It forms the northernmost part of the 16,000 ha Pyramid Fields in the Western Desert edge of the Nile Valley that are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Memphis and its Necropolis

  • "Giza Illuminated" is a captivating 3D model crafted for the LandMark Inspired Design Contest. This transformative piece takes an aerial view of the Giza Plateau and infuses it with a topological style, elevating it to a modern masterpiece.
  • The three iconic pyramids—Great Pyramid of Giza, Pyramid of Khafre, and Pyramid of Menkaure are meticulously rendered, showcasing the plateau's natural contours.
  • What sets this model apart is its dual purpose: a precise topographical representation and a functional lightbox.
  • Embedded LED lights within the plateau create a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow, casting an enchanting glow that brings the ancient wonders to life. "Giza Illuminated" serves as a symbolic fusion of history and innovation, honoring the enduring legacy of ancient Egypt while embracing the possibilities of modern design. A timeless and contemporary masterpiece, this model is a standout contender for the “LandMark Inspired Design Contest”.

A little bit of assembly is required;

  • THE PARTS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO FIT INTO EACHOTHER. The plateau part sits on top of the lightbox. Flip it over after you print it and glue it on top.
  • I recommend the Bambu Lab Jade White filament : https://eu.store.bambulab.com/en-ro/products/pla-basic-filament
  • Print Both plates
  • Glue the Giza Plateau model on the top of the lightbox, leaving an even contour along the box.
  • I used black tape on the inside walls to block light from escaping through the sides, but you also may print the walls of the base in black, making sure you leave the thin layers at the bottom white
  • Stick the led's to the side of the inside walls (I used battery powered led's for a cleaner look)
  • Ignore the supports, they are for some floating object that i couldn't manifold at this size.
  • The version for the A1 mini must be printed with a 0.2 mm nozzle due to the heavily detailed model being scaled down

Looks amazing, one 1 meter long LED strip is enough, use it one the upper edge and the end of it in the middle.

Replying to @LUX_Arif :
I've used ESUN PLA+ Bone White, so it looks great even if not lighted.

I thought the same thing and so went back and read the description again, and also looked more closely at the images. Then I realized we're supposed to glue the print to back side of the base, so the base is left open to the wall. I, too, thought the print was supposed to fit inside the base for a completed self-contained finish.

Make sure to also print the lightbox for it to make it even cooler! The file is in the profile list at the bottom. I believe you need to click "show more" on a desktop.

That's not how you assemble it. It's wrong, yes. You glue the pyramid plate on the other side and have the hollow side on the bottom. You also mirrored it in the slicer because it's impossible to fit them like you did if you just printed my plates.
