Update 10/3/2023 - I have redesigned the model to utilize a dovetail for easily adapting different sizes of support blocks to accomodate more laptops: https://makerworld.com/en/models/33124
Designed this to support the USB-C cable that connects a Dell docking station to the computer. The USB-C port on the laptop is fragile and requires a full motherboard replacement to repair it when damaged. This should reduce/prevent the damage to the port from pushing the connector down, twisting, or pivoting. It will not prevent damage from picking up the opposite edge of the laptop. Remember it is best to unplug the cable entirely to move the laptop around on your desk. This should work with the Dell Precision 3560 laptop I use at work and will be testing it with a few other models at work to expand the list below. I am looking at redesigning it to use a dovetail or similar joint to allow for easily adjusting the overall height of the model for use with a wider range of laptops.
Supported Dell Docking Station models (Tested Compatible):
WD15 (Reduced functionality as the cable sticks out a little further if you line up LED)
WD19TB
WD19TBS
WD22TB4
Unsupported Dell Docking Station (Tested not compatible):
TB16
Supported Dell Laptops:
Precision 3560
Known issues:
Encroaches on the second USB-C port on the Precision 3560 - Planning to make another version that is thinner on either one or both sides for clearance.
