Print was beautiful and exactly what I was looking for, however I experienced some trouble with the drooping of the bottom of the model. Since all the difficulties of bridging and overhang were in the bottom part, I spent the rest of the day troubleshooting :)
the results came down to the following: while normal type supports do prevent the drooping, it seemed that the bridge ends would not reach the surrounding walls which meant that they were trying to bridge to midair. After playing around with a lot of the settings I determined that printing it with normal supports and 50% infill/wall overlap. unfortunately the piece of filament that supported the floating ends got too attached to the model and was not able to be removed completely.
