Description

I really liked the filament clip holder designed by NC-Designs, but after getting an AMS and build the AMS Riser V2 by maCyo042 the clip over the side mounting no longer worked so I modified the clip to fit in the accessory slot of the AMS riser.

This clip should work with other NC-Designs tool accessories that use the same clip as the original tool holder, but I have not tested them all yet, but can confirm it also works with the XL version of the clip bin.

I also modified the clip bin by reducing the size of the gap on the front because I found it limited the number of clips it could hold because they would fall out through the gap.

Any plans for a replaceable face plate?

I'm not sure I follow. A removable face plate for what exactly? If there is a demand for it, I might consider it, but I don't know what you mean.

Instead of a colored front layer.

Are you referring to the front color on the AMS riser? That's not my model, that the AMS Riser V2 by @maCyo042. I modified my print to do a filament swap at a lower layer and carry it through the rest of the print. I printed this before I got my AMS so I had to do a pause and manual filament change. It might be possible to make this a removable faceplate, but I think the big challenge will be getting a tight locking fit, because the colored part includes the connector to pieces 5 & 6 so you don't want the removable faceplate to easily come off. You would need to find a good balance where it stays connected, but is easy to remove when you want to. I currently don't have plans to work on this due to the time and material cost it would take to print and the design process usually requires at least a few prototypes to get right, but I'll consider it for a future build because I do like the idea.

Thank you so much. I get so much use from it. I actually just had refill it with another 20 clips the other day after it ran empty.

Strength Issue:extremely week print both times I tried it. once in PLA once in PETG. Top snapped off upon glancing at it skeptically.
