Description

Extended hopper for Timemore Scultor 078(s). This replaces the entire hopper because I didn't like the transition between the shiny OEM hopper and a 3D printed version. Also have designed an optional slow feed popcorn plate that sits lower in the hopper to mitigate possible popcorning if slow feeding.

Magnetic popcorn plate is printed separately from hopper to mitigate bad overhangs.

The reason the slow feed popcorn plate is optional is I have found the lower plate can get clogged with beans if dumped in all at once.

Print with PLA-CF for a nice matte finish that in my opinion complements black grinder.

You need:

  • Eight 6x3mm round magnets to attach hopper
  • ≤12.5x1.5mm round magnet that is inserted into modified popcorn plate mid-print (12x1.5mm magnets will work)

Assembly instructions:

  1. Pause at layer 13 (2.12mm layer height) when printing the modified popcorn plate to embed ≤12.5x1.5mm magnet. Be careful of magnet polarity with OEM lid.
  2. Insert 6x3 magnets into extended hopper and chassis magnet plates, making sure polarity of magnets are correct. Use CA glue if necessary to fix magnets.
  3. Remove rubber caps from OEM hopper.
  4. Unscrew the two countersunk screws. Set aside, will need to attach chassis magnet plates.
  5. Remove OEM hopper
  6. Use original screws to attach chassis magnet plates.
  7. Place extended hopper onto grinder.
  8. Slide modified popcorn plate onto extended hopper's dovetailed post.

Bravo! Very nicely done. I printed the hopper in transparent PETG and the popcorn plates and mounts in white PLA. With the magnet in the top plate the stock lid works well and slides back into the open position beautifully. Fully closed lid doesn't quite seal but I think I had a little warping. Either way, great job on this model and thank you so much for posting!!
