Description

I didn't like any of the Ender 3 LED mounts available, so I decided to make my own.

The mount is designed to mount to the center rear of the X-Axis using standard Creality M4 rail hardware. If you upgrade your main board to use sensorless homing, you can use the hardware from the Y-Axis end stop switch mount to mount this. Since the mount is attached to the X-Axis, it will raise with the Z-screw keeping the print area lit at all times, without adding additional weight to the print head.

The two prints should support most 5050 LED strips, including WS2812/Neopixel addressable LEDs.

The compact variant is designed to be used with 144/m LED strips, and the standard variant is designed for 60/m strips (30 should work fine). The size should be wide enough to hit across the print surface, but not wide enough where you can't use binder clips in the rear to hold on the build plate (which will get hit if you don't compensate for the mount position when the bed is pushed forward, so don't put a clip in the center rear).

This has been designed to be printed with the screw plate facing down with minimal supports. Support Overhang Angle at 60 with a brim to keep the support in place should be enough to support the tip of the LED strip holder as well as the arch (I printed about 10+ of these without issue).
