Description

These boxes are designed to prevent the activation of the controllers and thus the switch while travelling with all of them thrown in a simple bag or similar. The left and right boxes are mirror images of each other apart for the asymmetrical logos.

Prints just fine with any standard PLA settings for PrusaSlicer on 0.2mm Quality. Though you will need support on a lot of details and might want to use variable layer hight.

You'll need about 80g of filament for one box including support. By optimising the support structures you can get down to about 50g so a filament sample might be enough if you want the boxes to match your controllers without buying a full spool of the colour.

If I can find the optimised file or find the time to make a new one I'll add them here.

Should you happen to find a filament that's very close to one of the various Joy-Con colours please leave a comment preferably with a picture for people like myself trying to make matching boxes for their controllers.

For transparency reasons: Back in 2020 when I designed these models I was inspired by the traveler boxes of kristouf https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2867599

I wasn't happy with that design though and made mine from scratch which is why I don't consider them to be remixes but original models.

I love these! I've printed two so far, and they mate perfectly with my joycons. I'm interested in making a derivative work/remix based on your geometry here, but my parametric CAD software doesn't seem to be the best at converting .STLs into solid bodies. Would you be willing to share a dummy solid file (like .STEP, .IGES, or .X_T, etc.) in addition to the .STLs you've provided? Even if it were just a single file of the "clean" variation, that would be a great help.
