Description

I designed a flower pot with a separate lower half to collect excess water. The parts can be printed in different materials and mixed and matched to your liking.

In addition, I created 3D printable molds for casting the planter in concrete. If you want to use the molds I highly suggest printing the green colored ones (as seen in the exploded view drawing) in a flexible filament. The file “Mold_Upper_Pot_Outside” has to be printed twice.

To cast some concrete planters (or parts of it) prepare your mold prints by coating them in a thin layer of oil (I used some leftover sunflower oil from the kitchen). For the concrete, I used about 1 part cement, 2 parts silica sand, and as much water until I got to the right consistency. Then filled up the prepared molds (as seen in the images) and vibrated them to get the trapped air out of them. After 1 or 2 days you can take them out of the molds and spray a couple of layers of a protective lacquer on it, otherwise the concrete will absorb all the water in your planter, which may kill the plants and destroy the flower pot as well.

Please keep in mind that this design is published under a NON COMMECIAL license, so please do not sell the design or prints/ casts made with this design.

EDIT:

I printed the following parts upside down (as shown).
