Overhead Closet Storage Shelf
This overhead closet storage shelf is designed to utilize otherwise unused space at the back of a wardrobe, behind the clothes rail. It provides additional storage without reducing hanging space - especially valuable in small apartments where every bit of space matters.
The shelf works as a practical organizer for hats, gloves, scarves, and other lightweight items that don’t require daily access, keeping them neatly arranged and easy to find.

For the IKEA PAX wardrobe system, the optimal shelf layout is:
- 50 cm frame (internal clear width: 461 mm):

250 + 250 + 230 + 230 mm
This flexibility lets you create a clean, built-in look while maximizing every centimeter (or inch) of available space.
Installation
- Using double-sided tape. No drilling, no permanent modifications required.
Recommended tape: 3M VHB. - Mounted with screws - the model includes dedicated mounting holes.
Recommended screw size: 3.5 x 16 mm.
