Description

This model is designed to remove moisture from a your filament spool.

This model is inspired by others I have seen here and there.

I have sized it so that it can be printed on both the BambuLab Mini and X1C.

Use a 4mm hexagonal, allen wrench to screw the rollers…Not too tight, as it might break. Remember, it's not metal.

In case you are using the bearings, be careful to place the washer as shown in one of the photos.

Regarding the rectangular hygrometer, I bought it on AliExpress but should be able to find it also on amazon:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003075779370.html

I bought the cereal boxes on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.fr/Wildone-conservation-hermétiques-céréales-aliments/dp/B07L2QJ5LB/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=Wildone%2B–%2BEnsemble%2Bde%2B6%2Brécipients%2Bhermétiques&qid=1708091397&sr=8-4&th=1

The model was designed in such a way as to be able to accommodate silica gel. I bought a 2kg pot of silica gel on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.fr/Trustleaf-Pot-déshydratant-silice-blanc/dp/B08X16GCVV/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=trustleaf%2Bpot%2Bde%2B2kg%2Bde%2Bdéshydratant%2Ben%2Bgel&qid=1708091636&sr=8-1&th=1

Just finished printing about a dozen+ of these things, in Bambu's transparent PETG. they work and look great. The transparent PETG makes it easier to see the state of the desiccants. For the lid, I also turned off the top and bottom surfaces so there's more of a grill to let air/moisture through.

It's a great design and I would love to switch to this from the Filabunker - however the side walls that keep the spool between the bearings is too thick. When I put in a Polymaker spool that needs plastic rings, it is too tight. Any chance to either get the design file, or a version with those side retaining walls about 1/2 as thick> The do not provide my structural support, so they can be thinned a lot I suspect. Thanks for all your hard work!

Printed three of them yesterday and today. Works perfect for my Sunlu and Bambu PLA Basic spools, but my Bambu PLA Matte spools are 6,9cm wide instead of 6,5cm for Pla basic, so the Matte ones do not fit onto it. Its not a big issues for me, but pls be aware.

Thank you for your comment. I will add some precisions on the description. By the way, I made a new model which is 7,2 cm wide: https://makerworld.com/en/models/421142#profileId-323924

I don't know if I can link to a particular comment, so I'll just link to the model. I was able to use two Sunlu (left side/narrow) adapters (https://makerworld.com/en/models/17369) with this dry box after I moved the 608 bearings to the inside to better match the width of the Sunlu spool. This was for a spool of Sunlu TPU. Other Sunlu spools may be different widths, I'm not sure. Now I can easily print Sunlu TPU from a dry box. Thank you for this model.
