Description
☢️ Nuclear Torch – Movable LED Flashlight
The Nuclear Torch is a 3D-printed flashlight in a sci-fi style with a sliding, glowing core.
By turning the Control knob, the user moves the Sliding core using a screw mechanism, allowing smooth extension and retraction of the core.
The lighting effect can be achieved in two ways:
- the core housing made from glow-in-the-dark filament,
- or a mini RGB LED installed inside the core.
The project combines moving parts, simple mechanics, and a futuristic design inspired by nuclear energy.
Model parts
- Torch body
- Sliding core
- Drive screw
- Control knob
- Core stop
- Core cap
- Decorative element (x5)
- Radiation symbol plate (x3)
Assembly
- Screw the Sliding core onto the Drive screw all the way down.
- Add a small amount of glue into the hole in the Drive screw.
- Insert the prepared assembly into the Torch body.
- Insert the Control knob shaft into the glued hole in the Drive screw and wait for the glue to set.
- Attach the Core stop into the appropriate holes in the Torch body and wait for the glue to cure.
- Extend the Sliding core.
- (Optional) place the LED inside the Core cap.
- Attach the Core cap onto the Sliding core.
- Install the Decorative element (x5) and Radiation symbol plate (x3).
Test the mechanism by turning the Control knob.
