Description

This customizable collapsible lightsaber is the first collection of many different designs that I wanted to create.

I am just getting into the 3D design space and trying new things with my 3D printer, and these lightsabers have been the result of my tinkering.

The sections screw together and are meant to be interchangeable with all the parts in this collection. (This is only part 1.)

Update:

The end cap for this version has been updated (original model still included also) to make it deeper and allows for smoother blade deployment!

A new blade has also been added that prints in half the time of the old. The walls are thinner on this version, so the blade might be weaker.

Those look really awesome! I really like the glow-in-the-dark blades too. I have been having issues with the Silk filaments being more brittle and breaking. But those are some really nice looking sabers!

Love this model! Printed parts from all 4 lightsabers and brought them into the office. Now my team is making their own office lightsaber for battles!

Thanks for the support! I really appreciate it! My hope was to be able to easily create multi-color prints that you can easily combine without all that waste!

I completely agree. These are not for sword fighting, that is for sure! My kids have broken so many of them. They are easier to fix than the "print in place" swords I started printing. I have been trying different things, but I have not been able to get a 3D print blade to be strong and collapsible.

Yeah, I have printed a few to give away at work for those that do best at a Star Wars quiz! So much fun!

The Lightsaber itself works great, but for the blade, I would recommend using the blade from one of the other sets by this creator and scaling it up to 102%.

I have been printing all the parts in various filaments and then let my friends "build their own" lightsaber! They pick out a head in the style and color they like, then a mid, handle, and cap! Finally, they pick a blade color, and they have their very own unique lightsaber!

I am very new to 3D printing and 3D modeling, so please let know what you think and give me suggestions to make it better! I am always trying to iterate on theses designs and improving them where I can. I will upload the new design with the old, unless I think the new just needs to flat out replace the old.
