Description

Found this simple idea for baby proofing your cabinets and drawers on I believe it was thingiverse, and I cant find the original link as of now but I revamped it completely and made it thicker and more robust to be stronger since my 1 year old was trying to rip off our cabinet doors lol

I also removed part of the middle so it didnt require as much filament and was more flexible so easier to push down since my wife was having trouble before I did this and it was quite difficult to press. I also made the srew holes perpendicular to the top of the latch so it was a little easier mounting it, since if your a little off and its too tight and wont press down all the way to open (make sure you test it out by only putting in 1 screw that was if its too tight you can just twist it to the side), or its not grabbing enough, you can simply slide it up or down to make fine adjustments without needing to redrill.

I suggest using PLA since its more stiff/rigid, and since I used 5 walls its not likely to break easily, and because of printing it on its side layer adhesion isnt really an issues either. PETG would probably work but I was worried that it may be to flexible, especially when an angry child is trying with all there might to get it open haha.

printed with 5 walls, 35% gyroid infill, 0.2mm layers 0.4mm nozzle I also used tree supports as they didnt add much time or material and it makes sure its a bit cleaner, espeically in the holes for the screws.

And with most 3D printed items, I would suggest using pan head screws, or any screw and a washer to prevent splitting.

Hope this helps someone and saves some accidents!
