LED Lamp Kit (1pcs) - MH001
Waterproof RGB LED Light & Remote Control (6PCS) - KC020

Description

Want a 100% printed Japanese Paper Lantern?  This lantern feels and looks like a real paper lamp.  You can use any sort of Tea Light or you can use the LED Lamp Kit 001.

You can choose whether you want to print the version with the Kanji character for Festival or just plain with no symbol.  Note that the character is only visible when the lamp is lit, this saves you from a suuuuuper long print with hundreds of color changes to print a character on the lamp.

Lighting options

  • Tea light – most tea lights will work, there's plenty of room.  My preference is for tea lights with a remote.  Some tea lights you can use are linked on this page in the Maker's Supply store.
  • LED Lamp Kit 001 – there's print profiles for the LED Lamp Kit if you'd like to plug it in like a lamp.  You can purchase this lamp kit from the Maker's Supply store, linked on this page.
  • LED Lights – any other LED lights that are around the size of a tea light will work, I've linked one from Maker's Supply that has a remote and works well.
  • Other – plenty of other lights will fit as well, there's a bit of room at the base of the lamp.  If your light source is larger, then print the Lamp kit version since its bigger.

Bambu filaments used

You can use any filaments you want – my preference is to use a shiny/metallic looking filament for the top and bottom (like Bambu Silk+), then a matte filament for the “paper” part of the lamp (like Bambu Matte Red/White/Desert-Tan/etc).

In the model photos I used these filaments:

  • Matte Scarlet Red
  • Matte Desert Tan
  • Silk+ Silver
  • Sunlu Black Silk (Amazon link)

Assembly takes seconds

1. Place a tea light, LED Lamp Kit, or some other light in the bottom of the lamp (shown in orange below)

2. Then simply screw the top and bottom onto the lamp.

3. Optionally you can attach the handle by inserting the peg into one hole and then stretching it just a little to get it into the other hole.

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my work and would like to help support my ability to share more (and even better) models in the future, please consider boosting or buying me a coffee at the link below.   Your support is what helps me have enough filament and supplies to do all the print testing required for my models to be high quality and easy to assemble.  It takes a mountain of test prints for each model. Thanks :-)

Here's a link to my Buy Me a Coffee page, thanks for the support!
