Description

Use filament color that differs from your build plate color, 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height!

The smaller gaps between adjacent lines are 0.4 mm wide. If the gaps between adjacent lines come narrower, or there are no gap at all, your bed is too close to nozzle. If the filament is not adhering to bed, or lines look very high, your bed is too far from nozzle.

More orange color means nozzle is far from bed, and when you see more build plate color the nozzle is closer to bed.

This is a really cool way to test the bed. On my print, I can tell that one corner has the lines closer together than the other corner, so I'll need to level something, but I wish it were more obvious somehow. Probably pulling out the measuring tape or else picking a clearer filament to print with could work. At any rate, I love the idea. What do you think the "holes" in the bottom right corner mean? Something with the feeding speed? Filament diameter? I assume where the edges don't touch on the very bottom are because maybe the top right corner is too close, and therefore the bottom left corner is too far.

Nice to hear you liked the idea! The "holes" are probably due some contamination on bed, I would clean The bed with IPA or dish soap. The bottom lines not touching the edge could be due to too small overlap percentage or nozzle just slighty too far away. All in all, your bed seems to be well leveled.
