Description

This is a companion for the bobbin box ( https://makerworld.com/en/models/137512#profileId-149647 ). It can hold 18 medium spools or up to 24 short spools. Like the bobbin box, a patterned PET build plate achieves the woven look on the lid. For the “blue jeans” look, I used Bambu PLA Matte Dark Blue with Bambu PLA Basic Gold for the “stitching”. . Use whatever color combination you want, I think this works well with a mix of matte and shiny/silky for added visual contrast.

loving this and your bobbin box, thanks, is there a way of stopping these lines though please, the opposite side is fine, using silk pla

The lines are produced by the way the slicer sequences the order of the extrusion, but I think it becomes more pronounced because of your choice of filament. Is that a silky or colour-shifting PLA? I would try a plain or matte PLA

Great print! Wife loves it. Is it possible to get one made specifically for the smaller spools (as per the photo)? Could possibly do with adding another row in, and reducing the overall height.

Nice smooth print, I like that you can print multiples and stack them neatly together with just 1 top. Just a single one is a nice size to be able to store multiple spools of thread.

I love the look of these bobbin and thread boxes. I printed out both and then realized my threads need to stand up and are too wide and too tall to fit in the thread box (bobbin box worked perfectly!) Have you thought about designing a bottom that would have small posts that could hold the larger thread spools? Just curious. Other than that, these boxes are just beautiful!
