Description

Here is a dumb story :

I bought this honey dispenser from Amazon*.
I went to fill it up with honey.
My ADHD didn't stop to consider that the bit in the handle that keeps the honey from pouring out, was attached to the handle, which needs to be removed to fill the container.
So I put it in the base and started filling it up.
I was SHOCKED, shocked I tell you, at how much honey it held.
Which is when I realized that I was ALSO filling up the base, and then a large portion of my counter, with honey.
Mistakes were made.

Yes, you could simply put your finger on the bottom of the spout, and fill it up.
But then you are doing a potentially complex task one handed.
And have I mentioned the ADHD?

So I made a cap that was within tolerances that would also hold the weight of the honey jar as you filled it.
I thought about scanning the inside of the cap to make it a perfect fit, but instead opted to just squish a pinch of food safe silicone mix in there, put some plastic wrap over it, and make a squish impression of the nozzle instead.
The flex from the silicone makes it water tight, and thus honey tight.

Problem solved.

I might scan the final result and do a ‘non squishy’ version after this one wears out.
