Description

This is a 17 mm ball-to-ball extension arm designed to work with 17mm ball and socket mounting parts, commonly used with swivel-mount holders for phones, gps units, and other accessories.  Garmin devices, in particular, often use 17mm ball and socket components.  The arm is angled to allow more horizontal positioning.

The part is printed upright, with its arm sections at angles to eliminate horizontal layer lines and increase strength.  There is also some internal structure intended to strengthen the part.  It seems quite strong when printed with PETG.  Because it is used with a swivel connection that is by its nature not completely rigid, it would be hard to put enough torsional force on this part to break it normal use.

In my limited testing of PETG and PCTG filaments, Bambu Lab PETG HF has produced parts with the most uniform clamping and the smoothest swivel movement in this application.
