Description

Summary

I recently posted a walking robot toy here on Thingiverse. The robot had a battery box with a built in switch in the head. I've redesigned parts of the box/switch to make it a stand alone unit. There are two versions. One for a single 2032 cell and one for 2 cells in series. The box/switch has three parts. The battery box, the slider, and the cap. The slider and cap are the same for both versions. The electrical contacts are made from a #1 paperclip. I have included jigs for bending the paperclips. One jig is for bending the top contactor and is used for both versions. The other jig is for bending the bottom contactor. You need to pick the one or two cell version to match the battery box your building. The #1 paperclip I used will work well with Dupont connectors. The only thing you need besides the paperclips are some 3MM screws 6 to 8 MM long. A couple of the screws are used in the top wire bending jig. The switch can be printed and built in less than an hour. I have included a video showing the assembly.
