Rainbowcloud

I made a sketch of an idea which resulted in this 3D model. This model can be used for instance as a fridgemagnet, keychain or christmas ornament. In my case a group of friends requested this model with some minor adjustments. The request was to make the cloud another color and add some text. The result can be seen in the photos. This is just to show an example of what is possible with this model. I made a total of 3 print profiles:

Rainbowcloud_1AMS

This profile is optimized for using 1 AMS and is the one I prefer the most. This profile minimizes filament swaps and can be assembled without glue. The base is printed with 4 colors: the backplate, the cloud, the first rainbow line and the last rainbow line. The reason the first and last rainbow lines are printed is because you can print and add the other colors seperatly which minimizes waste and only requires 1 AMS. Because of the friction between the lines, it is possible to assemble it without glue. For a secure fit I would advise to still use a bit of glue. The fit is also depends on how accurate the printer is. If it doesn't fully fit, you might need to sand one of the colors a bit. My advice is to start with putting in orange first and finish with blue. If blue doesn't fully fit, sand it a bit down untill it fits. Maybe it is possible to print blue at 99% scale, but I have not tested this.

Rainbowcloud_2AMS_or_swapping

This profile is optimized for 2+ AMS units or if you want, swap out colors in a sequence. So this is basically the whole model fully colored. No glue required.

Rainbowcloud_NoAMS

This profile is optimized for printing without an AMS. All parts are printed seperatly. This print requires glue for assembly.
