Description

Sometimes you just need two, two people, two hands, two tripods? Or maybe one tripod is enough?

I was at a family reunion almost a decade ago. I had one tripod and I kept having to switch between camera and video. I got the idea, wouldn't it be great if I could mount both to a single tripod. That was when I began devising the Double Take. I went through a few prototypes before I settled on the design you see here. And that's kind of where things died. I thought about trying to sell these but I simply lack the passion for sales. I am a maker, I like making things not generating sales.

But now I bring this device to the community. I hope you like it. You can mount any accesory to it that uses a ¼-20 nut… in the photo you will notice i have mounted a video camera and a remote microphone receiver.

The device folds up to fit in a camera bag easily. When you do to install the D-ring screws you will notice that its a really tight fit and you will probably need a coin or flat head screw driver to turn it into place… this is intentional because they are not supposed to come out and by making the fit tight they will never accidentally back out on there own.

Super glue the ¼-20 nut into the bottom of the base.

you might want to use a little thread locker on the binding posts to keep them from backing out.
