Description

Decided to test out inlaying laser cut wood into a print. This was the simplest design and an easy project.

3D print the coaster with the attached file. then laser cut the inlays and cork bottom with the attached .lac files. assemble with CA glue.

Oiling the inlay with mineral oil after assembly helps with water ingress and gives a nice finish.

For inlay, after printing the coaster. measure the interior depression straight edge to straight edge (nominal is 75mm) This particular print measured 74.85mm. I sized the wood cut to 74.9mm. Do this according to your print.

This model was printed in ABS-GF for a nice finish. Different materials could shrink more.
