Description

And who said colored bricks are for children?! XD

Here I made an internal frame with the likeness of a minifigure
from the famous "you know who" brick house.

You need about 120 bricks of various sizes.
I actually didn't count them all!

---------------------------------------

IKEA VERSION!

Update!
I purchased 3 Ikea frames, which were on average cheap:

  • Sannahed: The one I love the most. Square in shape, where the "wood" color you see in the photo is new.
There is also a darker variant, in addition to the classic black and white.
Be careful though, to print this version you need to make a change on Bambulab's X/P series,
as the color change limits the maximum printing area.
    Find a guide here: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/print-volume-limitations

  • Vastanhed: Slightly more expensive, I'm not crazy about the design, but equally usable for this project.
Be careful here too, on the X series you need to modify the Gcode to "shorten" the initial purge line. Look at the attached photo on which value to touch before proceeding with printing.

  • Ribba: Very cheap frame, end of series (its replacement costs 3 times as much!!)
Frame too shallow for the "Bricks" project, but usable for the "Poops" project.
The size I found available is too large for the 256x256mm print bed. We should wait for an XL version! Bambulab, hurry up please!!
The perfect 18x24 cm version (it has not been available in Ikea Italia for some time).

ATTENTION!
The inside frame measurements are:
246 x 196 x 29mm

Measure your frame before printing this file!

If your frame has different measurements, Print Profile is not responsible!
It seems obvious to me, but I'm forced to point it out because of some users among us.

It adapts to the 3D frames found on Amazon,
there are various sellers who resell the same frame.

A 5 star concept and design. I used an IKEA RIBBA frame 20x25 cm (very cheap!). In my case I had to cut around 10mm off the top of the print. Each frame will be different so you might have to improvise. I used double sided nano tape on all sides to lock the model in the middle of the frame. arranging the blocks is also tricky. There might be ways to improve the design but I'm supper happy and grateful, so you deserve the 5 stars!

Thank you for rating and sharing your experience. Your creation is amazing! The frame is designed to store the bricks in a disorderly way, just like in a container. This will result in a composition that is difficult to replicate. However, nothing prevents you from carrying out an orderly composition like yours. in this case you could use just 1 row of bricks and therefore a thinner frame.

As far as Ikea frames are concerned, I carefully evaluated this path, but I didn't find a valid fit. I have this old frame at home that has the perfect dimensions, but I can't find it on the Ikea website anymore. Maybe it went out of production 🤷🏻‍♂️. I'll keep looking for the right Ikea frame! 👍🏻
