If you're able to, please consider boosting my model. If you print it, I'd love to see photos and hear your feedback. I'm always looking to improve my models and 3D modeling skills. Thank you!

Mighty Morphin’ Red Power Ranger Key Cover

No AMS Needed, Modular and includes a Blank Key Template!

I recently came across my old Gokaiger key and really wanted to convert my garage key into one. The online options were either too pricey or had long shipping times, so I made my own!

All parts are separated by colour, and the design is modular so you can easily swap keys without reprinting the whole model. The key sits inside the backplate piece, and I’ve included a blank template so you can make a cut out to fit your own key.

I’ve made one specifically for the Yale Superior key, plus a generic version that fits most circular keys that are 2mm thick or less. This is my first time working with keys, so if you need alternative sizes feel free to reach out and I’ll try my best to help.

If you want other Rangers you can simply change the red filament to blue, black, or yellow!

You’ll Need

  • 3 × M3 x 4 mm screws
  • A short piece of 1.75mm filament for the hinge
  • Glue
  • Black & Silver (or Grey) marker for the helmet details

Assembly

  1. Glue the hands to the red body.
  2. Press-fit the white diamonds into the chest (check orientation before fully seating them).
  3. Glue the legs and boots to the black foot plate.
  4. Glue the helmet to the body.
  5. Once the glue on the hands and body has dried, place your key in the backplate, align the holes and secure it using the 3 M3 screws.
  6. For the hinge, cut a piece of filament at a 45° angle and push it through. It’s intentionally tight to prevent the legs from moving on their own.

Notes

  • It won’t stand upright on its own as it’s too top-heavy with the key.
  • Only the backplate needs to be reprinted if you ever change keys.
  • This is based on the Japanese Gokaiger Keys and are the same scale as those, the Power Ranger Super Megaforce ones are a bit smaller than the Japanese counterpart. (see picture above for reference)

Tell me what ranger you'd like to see next!
