Description

Based on the longsword used by Connor MacLeod in the movie Highlander, this is a 12" model designed to be printed in parts.

Includes a magnetic display holder that uses 3x 6x3mm magnets.

Two profile are uploaded and both are required to complete the build:

  1. The blade and handle guard should be done using a 0.2mm nozzle to make the details higher definition.
  2. The handle and holder can be done using a 0.4mm nozzle.

Note: I also have a 4ft long version ready to go, just need to print it before I can upload it.

can you clarify? I just downloaded the 3mf and it looks fine. Please upload pics of your slicer and the printed model to better describe the issue? Did you use a 0.2mm nozzle for the gaurd??

it looked fine in the slicer. When we went to glue it together, we found the guard was missing the bottom about 25% of the layers. They are what would have printed first. I did go back and check and the piece wasnt below the bed which was the only thing I could think of to cause it. That said, what printed looked great. When I get time, I will reprint that part and see if it goes better and will update my review at that time.

weird, double check the print preview before you print again, the model must have moved. I do have it set slightly below the build plate in order to give the ends of the gaurds point of contact on the first layer rather than being on supports, but that is a very small amount. Hopefully your next attempt goes better
