I have a simple Tile Wall Phrase Checker program you can use to see if your phrase can be made from your character set.  It should help you decide how big your display needs to be well as how many characters you will need.

The tile hangers come in three different lengths and have two mounting options (mounting tape or screws).  Chain together any combination of hangers using the connectors to fix them together to achieve whatever length you need to create your masterpiece.

The tiles are 40mm wide and 60mm tall (about 2.3 x 1.6 inches) making them the perfect size to get your message seen from across the room.

Not sure how many of which letters to make to get started?  Here's a decent distribution of letters per 100 tiles for English words.
