at first I thought to myself, what a waste. surely could make something more dense. but then I pulled out my D batteries and re-remembered how damn big these things are. 8 batteries are SO close to fitting on a 2x6 so unless you have tons of D batteries, you're gona net 1 battery per gridfinity unit
