This is a chess board printable in 4 quarters.
The quarters are connected via dovetails. This makes it possible to print large chess boards. Also you can use the quarter size to make it easier to store your chessboard and set, small or large. Please do not forget to use support onder the dovetails (it is in the printfile) and preferable use Support Filament. My prints did not need any post processing (sanding/filing) for a tight fit.
Included are the Fusion 360 model and a STEP file.
A made several different sized (250, 300, 350 and 450 cm) boards in STL for those who do not use Fusion360. I put each in a different directory. In the 300 directory a chess box is included. This is NOT a design from me, I just added the two color chess board decoration on the lid. I do not remember who made the original parametric box. Thanks to the anonomous designer!!!
When adding STL files drop LV Border, LV Zwart and LV Wit as one on the plat. (LV stands for Left Front, Zwart is Black, Wit is White in Dutch). Do the same for RA STLs (Richt Back), LA (Left Back), RA (Right Back). This makes it possible to set you choice of filament for the border and two tile colors.
When using the Fusion360 file you can set parametres for widt, length, borderwidth, thickness, Gap (the tolerance) and Hook (the width of the dovetail). Be carefull when changing champfers (also parametres, this can result in errors. Just return to the 1 mm value)
Combined with a nice set of chess pieces and a box with an exact fit this makes a very nice gift to friends.
Have fun!
