Colors and filament I used (4 Color):

  • PLA Matte / Plum
  • PLA Matte / Pink
  • PLA Matte / Black
  • PLA Matte / White

Or decide for yourself which colors and how many you want to use!

ℹ I made 2 Versions one without painted dots and one with painted dots in the model!

ℹ This model is very filament wasteful please keep that in mind!

------------------------------------------------------

ℹ New multicolor version (3mf)! This model is no longer pre-painted in the slicer – you can now freely choose which color goes where directly in your slicer for a better look and easier handling!

(Quick tip: identical colors next to each other won’t work – always place different colors side by side to avoid potential issues.)

Excellent print. Details for the main body are awesome. Used glow filament for the suction and eyes. Turned out great.

Turned out amazing. 🤩. If anyone was wondering what it takes time wise and filament wise to print the full painted one on a p1s, i left a screenshot. 😆😭I definitely wouldn't recommend printing a bunch of them with a normal ams printer, but if you like the model and really want a fully painted one, it can be done. Takes a while and wastes a bit of filament, but still realistically was probably only like 6/7 dollars worth of filament and I think its amazing so.🤷‍♂️👍

An absolutely amazing model (and coloring!), probably the most impressive model i printed up to date! i immediately knew everyone will want one so i went on to experiment with printing 3 of them at once (to make the waste of color switching tolerable) to do so, i scaled the model down to about 75%, to make sure the tentacles are still flexible and fun, i printed just a slice of 2 tentacles at the scaled down size (with a single color - so its a fast 2h test print). it worked amazingly well - so i added this profile for other non tool-changer users to be able to print the model at its full dotted glory with better waste management (same number of color switches, but this time, for 3 models instead of 1) *i also added the test tentacles plate, so you can first print it to make sure your printers accuracy is good enough to keep it flexible at this scale before fully committing to the 3-at-once. again, kudus to the designer for an absolutely amazing model

it's there in the profiles, 3 on same plate - the cover image shows the 3 red dotted octopus on a blue plate

This is amazing. I'm still learning, but how did you change the colors. This is the one part of printing that I don't understand.

last step, when you 3d model and which colors you will use, you can change color and see the changes on 3d model

I"m using a mac. I just watched a video, mac is not the machine for this slicer. I'm going to go try on the windows desk top and see if I can understand how to do this. Are the eyes hand painted?

turned out excellent. printed with Bambu labors basic PLA, textured pei build plate, at 124% speed on my p1s with no issues whatsoever. I started the print then saw the comments about adhesion issues and to use a smooth plate, and started getting worried, but no problems at all. I did print the first few layers at 50% to see if that might help with adhesion. BOOSTED!
