Skadis Ultimount: Connector/Hook

The Ultimount is a low-profile, invisible and easy-to-print (zero supports needed) mounting hook solution for the Ikea Skadis.

The hooks and mounts have been designed to ensure no supports are needed to print either the hook, or the mounts when printed vertically (how most holders will be printed). No tools are needed for their construction or use, and the hooks are invisible when in use.

They have a locking mechanism that gives a satisfying ‘click’ when locked in position, and do not come loose while in use. They are, however, simple to remove by pushing down on the hook (the suggested print orientation makes the hooks very strong in the vertical direction).

Also included are PDF dimensions for creating your own models that will be compatible with the connector. They are very low profile, and the only significant requirement is that the back of the holder where the hooks are added is at least 4mm thick (5mm preferable).

Credits

The Ultimount hook is based on the Dovetail Hook from Tiggr, and updated to provide more rigidity and an easier addition/removal.
